Hi – I’d let to let you know about or remind you about a few upcoming events that I’ll be a part of.
I hope you can join me for one or more of them. One of them is a free and requires no travel (a webinar) and other events are being held in Indianapolis, Dallas, and Japan.
New! Webinar on Lean and Employee TB Testing
Sponsored and presented by QIAGEN, I will be talking about Lean principles, the types of waste, flow, and other basic concepts as part of this webinar.
Join Lean Consultant Mark Graban as he sets the stage for Lean in healthcare settings by outlining the benefits of reducing waste, streamlining value processes and continuous improvement. Curtis Chow will then discuss how Mercy Medical Center, Redding (MMCR), California, greatly improved tuberculosis (TB) screening of healthcare workers by including an interferon-gamma release assay, QuantiFERON-TB Gold test, in their Lean TB testing algorithm.
KaiNexus Webinar on Spreading Kaizen
Next week, Dr. Greg Jacobson, CEO of KaiNexus, and I are doing a new webinar titled “How to Spread Continuous Improvement.”
Two of the key questions to be discussed include: How do you spread specific ideas and improvements across an organization? How do you spread a continuous improvement methodology across departments and sites as you’re launching and ramping up a continuous improvement methodology?
You can also see some of our recent webinar recordings:
- How To Drive Improvement Behaviors to Increase Performance Gains (presented by Jamie Flinchbaugh)
- The ROI of Continuous Improvement (Q&A discussion with me and Greg)
- The Kaizen / Kata Nexus: How A Free Idea Can Be Priceless (presented by Michael Lombard)
See Kaizen at Franciscan St. Francis Health
Joe Swartz and I are organizing and hosting this first-ever event at Franciscan St. Francis Health, April 22-23 in Indianapolis. It’s a 1.5-day long event that will allow you to meet leaders and staff and you’ll also get to visit three departments to see what a culture of continuous improvement feels like first hand.
See my previous post “10 More Reasons to Come See Kaizen at Franciscan St. Francis Health.”
Lean Healthcare Transformation Summit 2015
This year’s Summit is being held June 3-4 in Dallas, Texas, my home state! This is always a fantastic event and one that I’m proud to be a part of each year. Again, I’m moderating the CEO panel discussion, which has three CEOs from the U.S. and Canada participating this year.
I’m also teaching a daylong pre-Summit workshop on June 2 about Healthcare Kaizen – how to create and sustain a culture of continuous improvement that works toward the ideal of everybody improving everywhere, every day.
I hope you’ll join us, as I really do think this is a best Lean healthcare conference each year. Learn more about the agenda, speakers, and logistics.
Japan Lean Healthcare Study Trip 2015
You might have read my blog posts about my past trips to Japan through Kaizen Institute. Last year’s trip was a big success, with attendees from seven countries all meeting up in Japan.
We’re working to arrange another trip in September and, if demand is there, one in October. Click here to learn more about the trip and to let us know if you’re interested in attending. I’ll again be a co-facilitator with the fantastic guides and translators from Kaizen Institute.
